The camera doesn't move the whole time. This is the framework they decided to do in the new film HERE. Is this a good idea? Is this something an audience can sit in front of and not be bored? Those are very good questions, and this may cause you to explore this film on your own. While the idea seems interesting and works at times, it does fall because of the different story lines.

HERE is an original film about multiple families and a special place they inhabit. The story travels through generations, capturing the most relatable of human experiences. Told much in the style of the acclaimed graphic novel by Richard McGuire on which it is based, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright star in a tale of love, loss, laughter and life, all of which happen right Here.

The camera not moving isn't all that bad. It's an interesting idea that works at times. It keeps you interested when things are going off-screen, and you need to fill in what's going on in your mind. It's like reading a book with audio. You need to put in your mind what is happening since it is off-screen.

This being said, there are times it seems odd. It feels more like a Broadway play where we have a one room scene. While it is cool to go back and see what was in the house before it was a house, and explore the land and the house across the way, it can be jarring at times to figure out where you are and when.

Time is something this movie likes to play with. We go back in time, then forward in time, then back to the middle, then forward again. You will need to pay attention as there are about four families we follow. Sometimes we follow the neighbor's house, sometimes we follow a Native American family on the land. The film jumps from time to time in no order.

Both Hanks and Wright bring a performance that's not anything too stellar. You may get distracted at times by the de-aging appearance. Sometimes it is hard to tell how old both characters are since the de-aging doesn't look right and makes them both seem older at times.

The non-moving camera idea works. It just needs to be adjusted more. It can feel boring at times not moving around and being told what is actually going on, and you have to figure it out. Some of the families you want to explore more on, while others are just flat. Then, when you get interested, it's time for a different family or back to one you've already explored.

The big takeaway is it's cute to see how everyone is connected in one area. Makes you think about your own personal area and what others had to go through there or what others had to deal with, while you are there now.
