Here we go with a sports movie. However, this one is one you may end up enjoying. It's one that may make you think, may make you feel, and may keep your interest. Get ready for a slow moving movie about boys in a boat.
THE BOYS IN THE BOAT is a sports drama about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. This inspirational true story follows a group of underdogs at the height of the Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals from around the world.
This movie moves as slowly as watching a bunch of men row a boat. That doesn't make this a bad or awful film. You just need to go into it thinking this is a slow sports film that not only moves slowly, but has such slow parts you may fall asleep.
If you are a sports addict, you may enjoy this film and should watch it. If you tend to want to watch those exciting films about inspiration, you'll only want to watch the last thirty minutes of this movie. Even with the slow times, this isn't a bad one to watch and enjoy at home.
THE BOYS IN THE BOAT is in theaters on December 25th, 2023.
