Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry and more is zooming into theaters this week, and I had an absolute blast with this one!
David Lietch, of Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2 fame, directs this one, and it’s actually based on a Japanese book of the same name! This movie is over the top, action-packed craziness and a lot of it worked for me!
If I could recommend anything to start, it would be that you don’t need to see a trailer for this movie if you haven’t already. This movie is full of surprises when it comes to story and casting, and the trailer gives away some of those fun surprises. If you trust me, just buy a ticket expecting insane R-rated fun and you’ll get it. With that being said, the entire cast is having the time of their lives filming this movie, it had to be so much fun on set.
Brad Pitt plays a former assassin who after therapy, is trying to stay in the business by only performing snatch and grab jobs but doesn’t want to kill anyone anymore. Brad is hilarious in this movie, playing the Zen guy trying to diffuse the situation with life lessons. Aaron Taylor- Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry play a team of assassins who are very close friends. The chemistry between these actors is phenomenal. They are hilarious. I was impressed by Joey King who plays a young woman who you can’t get a read on. She was great and could flip between emotions with ease. Every character in this movie feels like they ripped from a comic book or something.
Bullet Train really is an action-packed “whodunnit.” The story is full of twists and turns, and it keeps you guessing how things will end the entire runtime. The 3 rd act is absolutely insane and you’re just along for the ride! I wouldn’t necessarily tell you to expect a great “film”, but man is this a fantastic time at the movies!
Go check out Bullet Train this weekend with a big bucket of popcorn, and I think you’ll leave the theater with a smile on your face!
'Bullet Train' is exclusively in movie theaters on August 5th, 2022
