The Bad Guys will not be bringing you many laughs while you watch this film. You may even get a little bored with this over-used plot in kids' movies. Just make sure you bring the little ones, so someone in your group can enjoy this movie.
Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys. But when, after years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.
Get the kids ready, cause that's who this film is made for. I know it's a cartoon, but you will be surprised at how little adult humor this movie has. They really just made this movie for kids. Adults will chuckle a little, but it won't be often.
While the plot is interesting enough to keep the kids engaged, and of course, the musical numbers help distract the kids too, it is just the same old plot that is used so many times in kids' movies. The children won't notice, but you will, and it will cause you to be bored a few times while watching this film. I will say there are two maybe three times that you will laugh and not be so bored, but that is it.
You would think with names like Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, and Craig Robinson you would be ready to laugh and enjoy the movie. While Awkwafina and Robinson do bring in some laughs, it is not enough to make this movie enjoyable. Just go in with lower expectations and you will enjoy the film more than I did.
While this movie was not for me, do tell me if you ended up liking this movie. Some movies work differently, and this one just didn't work well for me.
