Are you ready for a cute movie that has a somewhat decent plot? We'll look no further. While this movie brings the cute and charm, don't expect too much from this one. It's one of those cute to watch once and never again types.
Brilliant, but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic places in her popular romance-adventure novels featuring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, “Dash.” While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes that she can lead him to the ancient lost city’s treasure from her latest story. Wanting to prove that he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books, Alan sets off to rescue her. Thrust into an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.
The acting in the film is subpar. It just seems flat and the chemistry between Bullock and Channing doesn't feel quite right. Even if you take the age gap away, they just seem like they are trying too much to make it work, and it feels very forced.
Brad Pitt saves the day, but isn't in the movie long enough to make his part worth the whole movie.
Just go in watching this one as a cute date night idea, but wait until home. That way, when you get bored with it, you can talk to the other person in the room and not focus on the boring parts of the movie.
Make sure you stay through the mid credits for surprise scene.
'The Lost City' is in theaters on March 25th, 2022.
