Tom Holland stars as Nathan Drake, the title role in this video game turned movie extravaganza. Nathan is a treasure hunter who meets his partner in crime, Victor “Sully”, played by Mark Wahlberg. They look for clues while attempting to find a buried treasure worth billions. Along the way they fight a mercenary, Jo Braddock played by Tati Gabrielle. She’s hunting for the treasure on behalf of her employer, Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas).
The movie has a lot of callbacks to the video game and it wasn’t overtly cheesy or obvious. It’s definitely a blockbuster movie with tons of action and ridiculous fight scenes. I absolutely loved the epic ending and was on the edge of my seat!
I think if you can just detach yourself from reality and really anticipate having a good time watching an action movie, you’ll like this one. I really enjoyed it and had a great time watching it!
Make sure you stay through the end credits for surprise scene.
