Black and Blue is a fast-paced action thriller about a rookie cop (Academy Award® nominee Naomie Harris) who inadvertently captures the murder of a young drug dealer on her body cam. After realizing that the murder was committed by corrupt cops, she teams up with the one person from her community who is willing to help her (Tyrese Gibson) as she tries to escape both the criminals out for revenge and the police who are desperate to destroy the incriminating footage.
Black and Blue is in theaters on October 25th, 2019.
Black and Blue is the action thriller about rookie police officer Alicia West, who witnesses murders with her body cam. The murders are at the hands of corrupt cops so West rushes to get the footage to the station and along the way she has to learn who is with or against her. Can this movie pack enough realistic action?
This movie has the set up to be a good action thriller and does not disappoint. It starts off with a great storyline which gets the audience involved quickly and does not slow from there. There are multiple scenes that are edge of seat type action between the thrilling plot and the intensity of the cast.
On the other hand, there are a lot of deep topics that this movie only graces the surface of. As a result, it comes off as if someone is slowly ripping off the bandaid of a deeper wound. Naomie Harris as Alicia West does help to show what can happen to officers who are trying to help the world be a better place against corruption while still facing adversity from being “black and blue”.
Black and Blue packs a lot of edge of your seat action. It is a good film that will keep the audience guessing how it will end with the fast paced plot and dynamic cast.
