It Chapter Two is in theaters on September 6th, 2019.

Pennywise the Clown, (Bill Skarsgård) is back after his 27 year slumber. He’s reigning terror on the town of Derry as children start to go missing again.

Mike, played by Isaiah Mustafa, calls his childhood friends to let them know they need to come back to Derry and make good on the blood pact from 27 years ago - if Pennywise came back they would kill him for good.

The cast is star studded, Beverly is back, played by Jessica Chastain, James McCovy plays Bill - Georgie’s older brother, Bill Hader stars as the joker - Ritchie, James Ransone plays the germaphobe - Eddie, and last but certainly not least is Jay Ryan who plays Ben - the boy who loves New Kid on the Block and has a crush on Beverly. Bill Skarsgård is truly an artist. There’s one scene where he’s not in makeup yet and he’s still absolutely terrifying.

Without giving too much away, the movie is nearly 3 hours long. It went by fast but towards the end it felt like it was dragging and started to feel more like an action flick. Think Indiana Jones meets The Goonies but scary.

There were a lot of scenes that went back and forth from when they were kids in the fist movie - that was my favorite. It also shows that the writers already had a plan since they filmed those scenes while filming the first movie. The kids must have had a lot of scenes to shoot! I give a lot of kudos to the writers for having it planned, it was interesting and surprising they did that. They had the foresight to see what they needed and it payed off. I was just expecting it to be them as adults with the same scenes but they were actually scenes we haven’t seen before. I felt like it wasn’t as scary as the first film but I also knew what to expect in terms of imagery and the like. I just re-watched the first one so it was fresh in my mind.

I think the movie could’ve been shorter and the ending a little less big...it was very action packed. Overall I enjoyed it but not as much as the first one.

Rating: 2.8 out of 5
