Ready or Not follows a young bride (Samara Weaving) as she joins her new husband’s (Mark O’Brien) rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell) in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.
Ready or Not is in theaters on August 21st, 2019.
The Le Domas family built their family fortune on making board games. When a family member gets married they have the new family member pick a game to play from a stack of cards. Grace, played by Samara Weaving gets married to Alex Le Lomas and now she must pick a card. She picks the only one you hope not to get, Hide and Seek. The way the family plays is they hunt down and kill the person hiding. She isn’t told the extent of the game until it’s too late. Now she has to hide and fight for her life.
The movie sounds wild and crazy and let me tell you - it is... but in the best way. It was actually really funny and super entertaining. I think they did a great job of making a funny scary movie that wasn’t cheesy. It also went by super fast and I really enjoyed it. Samara did an amazing job and I’m really impressed with her delivery, especially at the end - it was great!
Also shoutout to Melanie Scrofono (Wynona Earp)who played Emily, the sister in law. She was so funny, every scene she was in - she stole it! Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black) plays her husband and the two of them are just ridiculous, they were hilarious!
This was funny, scary, and VERY gory, lots of blood here people! If that’s for you, then go see it!
