Charlize Theron plays Charlotte Field, a well liked Secretary of State who intends to run for president. She hires her childhood neighbor, Fred (Seth Rogan) to be her speech writer. They become close while traveling and Charlotte needs to decide what she wants - a partner who’s accepted by the public or one she actually loves.
This movie was a big surprise for me. I didn’t know romantic comedy and political satire could mesh but they pull it off! It’s heartwarming and very entertaining, there were moments when I was laughing and moments when I was just engaged in the story. It’s hilarious and vulgar at times but if you like Seth Rogan it’s pretty much what you’d expect.
O’Shea Jackson Jr. plays Lance, Freds best friend and support system. I loved his character and I could watch an entire movie starting him and Seth. They were so funny together and he really stole the show.
Go watch this movie! You won’t be disappointed, it’s super original and has tons of humor and great acting!
