Read Lauren's review of Mission: Impossible - Fallout.
The best intentions often come back to haunt you. Mission: Impossible - Fallout finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout is in theaters on July 27th, 2018.
Ethan Hunt is back & better than ever… Mission Impossible: Fallout was AWESOME! Tom Cruise reprises
his role as Ethan Hunt, secret agent of the IMF on his latest mission to save the world. Ving Rhames and
Simon Pegg, the clear fan favorites of the franchise, also reprise their roles on Hunt’s team, along with
Rebecca Ferguson back as Ilsa Faust. Since we’re all still talking about #MustacheGate, we finally get to
see Henry Cavill and THE mustache meant for this movie. He sort of joins the team as CIA assassin
August Walker, mainly because both the CIA and the IMF are out to reclaim stolen plutonium from a
terrorist group that could lead to yet another pending nuclear attack on the world. Angela Bassett (the
queen of stealing all scenes) plays Walker’s boss, the head of the CIA who isn’t drinking the IMF Kool
Aid. She sends Walker, her best agent out to shadow the IMF mission.
If you’re a Mission Impossible fan (minus MI2 because that was just awful), you love the crazy gadgets,
the endless action, the almost impossible storylines, but most importantly, you love the facemasks!
Fallout has ALL of those things and more. It fits perfectly in the franchise, with missions and secret
meetings across the globe, and twisty turns throughout the plot. As usual, you spend the movie trying
to figure out who’s good, who’s bad and who’s got the drop on Ethan Hunt and his team (the answer to
that is NO ONE). Can Ethan Hunt and crew save the world…again?
I don’t want to spoil anything for all you MI fans out there, so I’ll just say, get ready for some awesome
surprises, endless action – endless shots of Tom Cruise running, and some amazing stunts. This
franchise is showing no signs of slowing down, and as long as Tom Cruise is at the helm, I’ll be strapping
in with some popcorn and watching the madness unfold. My only complaint was that I wish Jeremy
Renner had been able to reprise his role (he had Avengers scheduling conflicts) – so hopefully he’s back
for the next one. Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to RUN out to theaters and see this
ASAP!
