Ocean's 8 has Endless Twists - Ashley's Review

Ocean's 8 is in theaters on June 8th, 2018.

The Ocean’s series is back and this time with a female takeover for its main cast pulling the heist. Their target being a $150 million diamond necklace that weighs six pounds during the annual Met gala. With such big name actresses can Ocean’s 8 pull it off what it set out to do or will it be a bust?

I was never a big fan of the Ocean’s movies and saw it as just big name actors doing the same thing they usually do. When I found out the lastest film would star actress including Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna (and that’s only naming a few!) I was super excited and knew I had to check it out.

Maybe an all female cast was what the franchise needed to bring back the wow factor. There was not a dull moment while watching because the storyline, characters and comedy keep everything moving smoothly. Going along with the originals, the twists and turns are endless with the added bonus of woman power.

It was refreshing to see woman being the master minds behind the heist in a male dominated genre. I was pleasantly surprised with how the puzzle came together as they made the women come from all sorts of different backgrounds to go for one mission. They did however play on stereotypes heavily with most of their backgrounds but hey, baby steps.

If you’re a fan of any of the actresses that play lead roles in this movie I think you will enjoy this movie because they all did amazing. They are also a few cameos from other well known actors so be on the look out and let us know what you think of this movie!
