Hereditary Will Shake Your Nerves - Ashley K's Review

Hereditary is in theaters on June 8th, 2018.

If I had to use one word to describe this movie it would be Terrifying. I was so scared at one point that I couldn’t stop laughing, I started crying because I was laughing so hard and my nerves just hit me like a brick. This is not for the faint of heart... Even if you like scary movies this one will shake you to your core.

Toni Collette plays Annie Graham, when her mother passes away she begins to discover that she was into some weird stuff. Things one would call “bad ju-ju” spiritual stuff... no thank you, that’s a hard pass for me. Toni gave an absolutely amazing performance and if she’s not nominated for an academy award then I don’t even know because she killed it!

The director was very clever in the way the movie was filmed - it’s a bit of a slow burn but little things happens throughout the film that just trick your mind. It really builds up a lot of suspense and emotions as well.

If you love horror movies this one is for you. If you don’t - I suggest you skip this unless you want to sleep with the lights on!
