How does this Star Trek compare to the two previous films?
Star Trek Beyond is what you want to see in the next step in the Star Trek universe. They pay tribute to Leonard Nimoy, and the original cast. They cover the bases on explaining what has happen since we last saw they fleet. They have plenty of action scenes. They have the normal set up for the summer theme, which includes lots of explosions and women wearing tight clothes.
Some people will say that the plot of this movie is very hard to follow, which might be true. If you pay attention more then you want to, and don't always have your hand in the popcorn bucket, you should be able to get the gist of that is going on.
As you may know, Idris Elba plays the villain in this movie. He is a busy actor this summer, with this being his fourth movie to star in this year so far. He does his villain part justice. He has the skills that you want a villain to have.
It has already been confirmed that they will be making a fourth installment in this series. They didn't really leave it open at the end of the movie for more, but they didn't close it as well.
